Entry 1 (chapters 1 and 2)
Date: 4/20/09
Summary: Ponyboy Curtis, the narrator, begins the novel with a story: he is walking home one afternoon after watching a Paul Newman film, and his mind starts to wander. He thinks about how he wants Paul Newman's good looks, though he likes his own greaser look.
Reaction: kind of a slow start nothing suprising at first.

Summary:
Ponyboy, Two-Bit, and Johnny walk to Two-Bit's house with Cherry and Marcia so that they can give the girls a ride home. As they walk, Ponyboy and Cherry talk about Ponyboy's brothers. He notices how easy it is to talk to Cherry. When Cherry asks Ponyboy to describe Darry, he says Darry does not like him and probably wishes he could put Ponyboy in a home somewhere. Johnny and Two-Bit are startled to hear that Ponyboy feels this way, and Johnny says he always thought the three brothers got along well. After Ponyboy tells Cherry about Sodapop's old horse, Mickey Mouse, the two move on to talk about the differences they show between Socs and greasers. The Socs are enemies with the greasers and the Socs are rich snobby kids while greasers are poor rough kids. After the movie the 2 girls boyfriends show up and are gonna beat up the greasers but the girls stop them.
Reaction: kinda superised that the socs just dont beat them up anyways

Summary: After they almost fight Johnny and Ponyboy are walking around because Johnny is so mad and the are at a park at 2:30 in the morning and they see 5 socs then the socs start calling them trash so Ponyboy gets mad and says stuff back and spits in there faces so then one soc grabs him and puts his head in the fountain to try to drown him and Ponyboy blacks out and after he snaps out of it he is laying beside Johnny infront of the fountan and one soc is laying on the gtound all bloody and Johnny says "i killed him." Then the 2 boys go to there oldest brother Dally and he says to take the train to windrixville and stay there for awhile and stay in the abandoned church. They get to Windrexville and get to the church.
Reaction: im superised and now I think the book is exciting

Summary: Ponyboy wakes up in the church with a note from johnny saying he went to town to get groceries and he brings back food and a book. Johnny says they should disguise themselves so he bleaches Ponyboys hair and cuts it and cuts his own hair. They stay at the church for a week and just read and eat. About 5 days into the week the get a note from Soda pop that says the police talked to all them about the murder and they say the ranaway to texas. After that Johnny wants to go back and confess but Dally wont let him. Dally comes to pick them up and after they start leaving they see that the church is on fire and they think that they that Johnny left a cigarrette butt lit so they jump out to go put the fire out then a group of kids were on a picnic and the adult realizes that some kids are missing so Johnny and Ponyboy went in and saved them and then Johnny pushed Ponyboy out and the roof caved in on Johnny.
Reaction: I Think its awesome that all that happened because it brought the brothers closer together

Summary: Reporters interview the 3 brothers and Johhny did break his back but then the next day Soda pop and his buddy bring the paper to them and it says that the boys are heros but Johhny and Ponyboy will go to juvenile court and Ponyboy will ost like be put in a boys home but his family wont let it happen. Then the boys go to get a drink at the freeze pop but then the socs show up but they only want to talk before because of one of the socs death and they do not want to fight before the rumble
Reaction im superised that the socs just didnt beat up the greasers right then and there

Summary: Before the rumble Ponyboy doesnt feel good because he is nervous and he cant eat his supper but after they leave for the rumble they all just get ready to fight and right as Dally shows up from the hospital a fight breaks out and after a very long fight the greasers win. after the rumble Dally and Ponyboy go to see Johnny and after they get there they realize he is dieing and his last words to Ponyboy are "stay golden" and then he dies.
Reaction im superised that Johnny died because i thought he was going to make it

Summary: After they Ponyboy gets back from the hospital he tells the gang then Dally calls because he ran away after Johnny died and says he just robbed a bank and the cops are chasing him and he pulls out a unloaded gun to try to scare the police but then the police shot him so he died too.
Reaction: I did not see another death coming like that

Summary: Ponyboy has to stay in bed for a week vecause he got a concussion during the rumble then a soc comes to Ponyboys house to talk to him about his friends death and everything. Then the day before the hearing he gets delirious and says he killed the soc and that Johnny is still alive
Reaction: kinda cofused why the one soc came over to talk and im wondering what will happen at the hearing

Summary:Ponyboy goes to the hearing and he does not get sentenced anything but he does become depressed and his grades go down and he loses coordination but he keeps fighting with Darry then his teacher gives him a chance to raise his grade to a C. Then the next day when Ponyboy Two-bit and Steve go to get candy and coke the socs show up and Ponyboy breaks the glass coke bottle and scares them off and the 2 other guys dont want him to grow up like Dally but then he picks up the glass peices so no one gets a flat tire. The next day he finds the book Johnny bought and it has a note in it to Ponyboy that is telling him to stay gold and everything then Ponyboy decides to write a book called The Outsiders and it has the same words at the beginning of the book.
Reaction: I think its awesome how they ended the book and how everything turned out.
